TOOLBOX Theory / TEACHING NOTES

The Toolbox Process

Picture

USING THE TOOLBOX INVOLVES  FIVE STEPS

step One

Become familiar with the background material which is included in the Theory/Toolbox Teaching  Notes Section

There you will learn the following:-
  • The different ways you can be involved in music in order to clarify your own vision
  • How to identify the relevant music and non-music skills that are important for you
  •  How to build a support structure
  •  How coaching principles and exercises can help  help you to maximise your potential
  •  How to access sources of information to help you with interest in music

For steps 2 to 5, you will need to access the material in  the
Toolbox Engine which includes Forms and Templates
we suggest that you print out a copy of these now

Step two

Complete the Self Assessment Questionnaires

This will help you clarify:-
  • Why you are involved in music and how well motivated you are.
  • The areas/issues of your music life that need attention.

step three

Complete the Self Assessment Worksheets
This will help you to prioritise the area/issues that need immediate attention

Step four

Set goals using the Grow Model
Professional coaches have access to many tools.  The Grow model is an effective tool for setting goals, which you can complete yourself.

step Five

Evaluate and review your goals on a periodic basis and restate your goals, if neccessary.
Your goals should be time-based and it is important that they are reviewed and evaluated from time to time. Otherwise you will lose momentum and lose interest

Next

Your next step is to actively engage with the Forms and Templates of the Toolbox Engine and set some Goals for yourself. Link
